Terms & conditions
The terms your booking is made under, written to be read rather than skipped.
Last updated 27 July 2026.
These terms
These terms apply to every repair we carry out for a consumer in a private home. The version that applies to your booking is the version published on the day you booked, and the date at the top of this page tells you when it last changed. If we change them, the change affects future bookings, not one already made.
What we repair
We repair electric domestic appliances in your home: washing machines, washer dryers, tumble dryers, dishwashers, electric ovens, electric cookers, hobs, extractor hoods, fridges, freezers and fridge freezers, including American-style fridge freezers. We are a mobile service — we work at your address and we do not hold premises you can visit.
What we do not repair
We also do not work on appliances outside a private home, and we will not start work where it would not be safe to do so. If we arrive and find the job is one of these, we will tell you what you need instead. The £80 call-out is still payable for the visit. See the full list of what we do not cover.
Where we work
We cover 16 postcode districts across North West London, UB5 to W5. We cover a four-mile radius around Northolt — sixteen postcode districts across West London and Harrow. Anything outside that list is outside our area. If you give us an address outside the districts we cover, we cannot accept the booking. See the areas we cover.
How a booking is made, and when the contract forms
You can book online or by telephone. Either way you tell us the appliance, the fault as you see it, the address, and a slot that suits you. Nothing is taken from you at the point of booking — the £80 is payable on the day.
The contract between us forms when we send you the booking confirmation, not at the moment you press the button or put the phone down. Until then we may decline a booking — for example if the address is outside our area, if the appliance is not one we work on, or if the slot has just gone. If we decline, we tell you and you owe us nothing.
The confirmation is your durable record of the contract. It repeats the price structure, the slot, your cancellation rights and the model cancellation form set out below. If anything in it is wrong, tell us straight away and we will correct it.
What it costs
£80 call-out — labour included on most repairs. Labour is included for most repairs. More extensive or complex jobs may require additional labour, which we always quote and agree with you before starting. Parts are charged separately and always quoted before we fit them.
The £80 is payable whether or not the appliance turns out to be worth repairing — it covers the engineer’s time and the diagnosis.
We are not registered for VAT. The price we quote is the price you pay.
If the repair needs more labour than the visit covers, or needs a part, we stop and quote you before we go on. You decide. No additional charge is ever raised without your agreement, and we keep a record of that agreement with the job.
Payment
Payment is due at the end of the visit, once we have told you what we found and what we did. We accept cash, card, bank transfer. We send an itemised invoice by email that names the part fitted, if any, and the date the guarantee on that part runs to.
Where a part has to be ordered, we agree what it costs with you before we order it, and we book the return visit at the same time.
Getting in, and what we need on the day
- Somebody aged 18 or over needs to be at the property for the whole visit.
- Please clear the space in front of the appliance, and empty it where you can — the drum, the dishwasher basket, the freezer drawers if we may need to move it.
- We need power at the socket, and the water on for a washing machine or a dishwasher.
- Integrated appliances usually have to be unfastened and slid out to be worked on. That is normal, and we refit them.
- Where parking needs a permit or a bay, please arrange it. If a parking charge is unavoidable we agree it with you before we incur it.
- Please keep pets and small children out of the working area while we are in it.
If we can't get in
We'll text you on the day with a tighter arrival window. If we arrive and nobody's there, we'll call you and wait 15 minutes. If we still can't get in, the £80 call-out is payable — we've used the slot and the travel time.
If you need to change or cancel, just call or email us. Do it before 6pm the day before and there is nothing to pay at all.
The guarantee
Any part we supply and fit is guaranteed for 3 months from the date it is fitted. That cover is on the part we replaced and the labour to put it right — it is not a warranty on the whole appliance. Read the full guarantee, which forms part of these terms.
Your statutory rights
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 the service we provide must be carried out with reasonable care and skill, within a reasonable time, and for a reasonable price where no price has been agreed. Any goods we supply must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
If the service falls short you can require us to perform it again, or ask for a reduction in price where repeat performance is impossible or would take too long. If a part we supplied is faulty you have the right to a repair or replacement, and a price reduction if that does not put it right. Nothing in these terms removes or reduces those rights.
Changing your mind, and cancelling
Because you book at a distance — online or on the telephone — you have 14 days from the day the contract is made to change your mind, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. You do not have to give a reason.
Most appointments fall inside that 14-day window, which is why we ask you to confirm at booking that you want us to come anyway. The box you tick reads:
I want you to come and start work at my booked appointment, which is inside my 14-day cancellation period. I understand that once the repair has been fully carried out I will no longer be able to cancel it, and that if I cancel part-way through I will pay a fair amount for the work already done.
The consequences of that request are exactly as it describes. Once the repair has been fully carried out, the 14-day right is lost — that is what the law provides where you asked for the work to start inside the period. If you cancel part-way through, you pay a fair amount for what has already been done: in practice the call-out where an engineer has attended and diagnosed the fault, plus any part already fitted. You pay nothing for work not yet done.
Beyond the statutory position, we go further. Change or cancel free of charge up to 6pm the day before your appointment. That is a contractual concession, not a legal requirement, and it applies whether or not you are still inside your 14 days.
To cancel, call 07450 416233 or email info@fastfixappliances.co.uk. Any clear statement that you are cancelling is enough — you do not have to use the form below. If a refund is due we make it using the same means you paid by, within 14 days of being told.

Our liability to you
If we damage your property while working in your home through our negligence, we'll put it right — that's what our £2 million public liability insurance is for. Tell us straight away and we will deal with it.
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking this contract or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
We do not limit our liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and for breach of your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
We are not responsible for:
- an appliance failing later for a different reason than the one we fixed
- damage caused by a fault we told you about and you asked us not to repair
- pre-existing damage, or damage caused by the original fault before we arrived (for example water damage from a leaking machine)
- loss of food from a fridge or freezer, or the cost of a launderette while an appliance is out of use, unless we caused the delay
If something goes wrong
Tell us first — most things are quicker to put right than to argue about. Call 07450 416233 or email info@fastfixappliances.co.uk with your job reference. Our complaints procedure sets out what we do, how quickly we do it, and what you can do if our answer does not satisfy you.
Governing law
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the country you live in.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of them continue to apply.
