Cookie policy
Four cookies, all of them strictly necessary, all of them named below. Nothing else is set.
Last updated 27 July 2026.
Why there is no cookie banner
A banner is required when a site stores something on your device that is not strictly necessary for the service you asked for — advertising, cross-site tracking, third-party analytics. This site does none of that, so there is nothing to ask you about.
We set no advertising cookies and no tracking cookies. There is no advertising network on this site, no social media pixel, no session recorder, and no third-party analytics script. A pop-up asking permission for things we do not do would be theatre, and it would sit between you and the thing you came here to do.
The four cookies we do set
| Name | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
ffa_draft | Keeps your part-finished booking on our server, so going back a step, refreshing, or losing signal does not lose what you have typed. | Cleared when the booking is confirmed, or when you close your browser. |
ffa_admin | Signs the business owner in to the admin area behind this site. Only ever sent on admin pages, and never set on a page a customer sees. | Eight hours, then it expires and the owner signs in again. |
ffa_csrf | Proves a form was submitted from this site, and not from somewhere else pretending to be you. The standard defence against cross-site request forgery. | Expires with the session it belongs to. |
ffa_track | Set when you look up your own repair. It is what makes the tracking page yours — the reference alone in a shared link opens nothing without it. | Thirty minutes from the lookup. |
All four are first-party cookies, set by fastfixappliances.co.uk itself. None of them is readable by another site, and none of them is sent anywhere else.
Analytics, and what it does not collect
We count page views so we know which repair pages are worth writing more about. That counting is first-party and it does not use a cookie. It never stores your IP address in raw form. The address is combined with a salt that is regenerated every night and turned into a one-way hash, so the same visitor cannot be recognised from one day to the next, by us or by anyone reading the data. Our privacy notice sets out the full retention position.
Controlling cookies in your browser
Every browser lets you see the cookies a site has set, delete them, and block them. It is usually under Settings, then Privacy — in Safari on an iPhone it is Settings, Safari, Advanced, Website Data.
You can block ours if you want to. Nothing here is spying on you, but two things will stop working: a part-finished booking will not survive going back a step, and the repair tracking page will not open. The information pages, the prices and the telephone number all work with cookies blocked entirely.
If we ever needed to add a cookie that is not strictly necessary, we would have to ask you first — and we would update this page before we did.
