Accessibility statement
What we are aiming at, what we have actually tested, and the things we know are not perfect.

What we are aiming at
This website is built to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 at Level AA. We believe the public pages meet it, with the exceptions set out under known limitations below. This statement is based on our own testing, not on an external audit, and we say so rather than implying a certification we do not hold.
The booking flow is the part that matters most. Someone who cannot use a mouse, or who cannot see the screen, should be able to book a repair without telephoning us — and should be able to telephone us instead if they would rather. Both routes are on every page.
What we have tested
- An automated axe-core pass runs in our build pipeline on the home page, a service page, an area page, the booking flow and this page. A new accessibility violation fails the build, so it cannot quietly ship.
- A manual keyboard-only pass through the whole booking flow at 375×667 — the size of a small phone — checking that every control can be reached, operated and left, that focus is always visible, and that focus never gets trapped.
- VoiceOver on iOS Safari, through the booking flow end to end, including the day and slot pickers and the error summary.
- NVDA on Firefox on Windows, over the same routes, checking headings, landmarks, form labels and live-region announcements.
- Reflow at 320px wide with no horizontal scrolling of the page itself.
- Zoom to 200% and to 400%, checking that nothing overlaps and no content is cut off.
- A text-spacing override — increased line height, letter spacing, word spacing and paragraph spacing — checking no text is clipped or lost.
- Forced-colors mode on Windows, checking that borders, focus outlines and the selected state of a slot survive when our colours are replaced.
Beyond that, every interactive control is at least 44 by 44 pixels, focus outlines are never removed, colour is never the only way information is conveyed, and form errors are listed in a summary at the top of the step as well as against the field itself.
Known limitations
This list is honest rather than short. If we find something else, it goes here before it goes anywhere else.
- The day strip in the booking flow is a horizontal scroll container. That is a deliberate design choice on a phone, and we have enhanced it: it has visible previous and next buttons, it responds to the arrow keys, and each day is a real button with an accessible name. It is still a scrolling region, and if you use a screen magnifier you may need to scroll it sideways to reach a day further out.
- The admin dashboard behind this site is not part of this conformance claim. It is used by the business owner on known equipment, it is not linked from any public page, and it has not been tested to the same standard.
- Invoices are generated PDF documents. They carry a text layer and can be read aloud, but they are not tested against the same standard as the website, and their tagging is not guaranteed. If a PDF invoice is difficult for you to read, ask us and we will send the same information as plain text or in the body of an email.
- Some longer advice articles contain wide tables. At narrow widths a table scrolls sideways inside its own container rather than shrinking. The content is reachable by keyboard and by screen reader, but it needs horizontal scrolling to read across.
- Where a fault is easier to show than to describe, an article may include a photograph. Every photograph has alternative text, but a photograph of a specific part is harder to describe usefully than we would like, so we also describe the part in the surrounding text.
If something on this site does not work for you
Tell us and we will fix it. Call 07450 416233 during our opening hours, or email info@fastfixappliances.co.uk. It helps if you can tell us the page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what you were using — a screen reader, a keyboard, zoom, voice control.
We reply within two working days, and we tell you either that it is fixed or when it will be. If the barrier stops you booking, say so and we will take the booking over the telephone there and then, at the same price.
How often we review this
We review this statement quarterly, and again whenever we change the booking flow, because that is where a regression would do the most damage. The date at the top of the page is the date of the last review.
Fast Fix Appliances prepared this statement itself, using automated testing in our build pipeline and the manual testing described above.
